Clearance Requirements – The property was located in North Wirral and had been occupied for decades by a person with hoarding tendencies. Having fallen into disrepair the property suffered from damp and the overgrown front aspect of the property meant access up the steep drive was difficult. The property needed to be cleared of virtually everything with some items being retained for the client and other items, including a safe which needed to be located.
Clearing the aftermath of hoarding in this three-bedroom house demanded a practical approach. Each room, cluttered with accumulated belongings, required thorough sorting and disposal. Over ten tonnes was removed from the property and taken to a trade recycling centre.

Clearance Overview – The first job was using a chainsaw to cut back a tree overhanging the drive preventing access for our vehicles. Day one involved clearing most of the downstairs rooms leaving an attached outhouse and a rear room full of books, magazines and paperwork which would need to be transported separately due to the weight. Items that were being searched for were located and set aside for the client.
Day two involved clearing the upper rooms of all items and all furniture much of which was dismantled on-site to enable it to be brought downstairs. During this process, the safe was located in a bedroom, behind a pile of furniture.
Day three meant back to the rear room containing the paperwork to clear that and the outhouse which contained old fridge freezers and various pieces of very old mechanical equipment. The loft was also cleared and carpets lifted.
The entire process saw over ten tonnes of waste removed from the property over three days using multiple vehicles.
