Q. How much does a house clearance cost?
A. The cost depends on the amount to be cleared and other variables such as access and any unusual items such as pianos. We’re always happy to visit the property to provide a free, no-obligation quotation.
Q. What is meant by house clearance?
A. A house clearance is carried out in order to empty a property of furniture and belongings and bring it back into an unoccupied state ready for its next occupant. Q. What happens to furniture taken away in a house clearance?
A. When we clear a property we’re very careful to ensure that anything that can be re-used is put to use. We donate some furniture to charity and also re-purpose it through our own non-profit, social enterprise. Anything that is at the end of its life is recycled at one of our recycling partner sites.
Q. Can you completely clear my property?
A. Yes we can, we can clear the house, the garage, sheds and out-buildings, the garden, the loft and the cellar. Our aim is to provide you with an empty property that’s ready to be sold or rented out.
Q. What if I want to do my own house clearance?
A. There are a few ways you can clear a house yourself if you’re willing to put in the time and effort. You could donate as much as possible to charity leaving you with what’s left to dispose of. You could hire a skip, or several skips which may seem a cost-effective way of doing it at first as a decent-sized skip can be hired for £250 – £300. However the reality is you’re going to need several skips and you’re going to have to load them yourself. You could take anything you can’t donate to the local tip which is free and is going to take many, many trips but at least you’ll get your steps in for the day.
Q. How long does it take to clear a house?
A. That depends on how much there is to clear but as we do this every day of the week so we have the necessary equipment and we’ve come up with systems to get the job done quickly. Generally, it can take from half a day to a couple of days to clear a house.
